Flair Airlines has signed a 15-year exclusive agreement with Lufthansa Technik for the maintenance of the LEAP-1B engines powering its Boeing 737 MAX fleet. The contract covers 18 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft and more than 100 planned maintenance events. The Canadian carrier will also become a full-scope customer of Lufthansa Technik’s Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem.
Most of the engine work is expected to be carried out by Lufthansa Technik Canada in Calgary. The location was announced in February 2025 and now employs more than 80 people. Operations are currently running from an interim facility, while a permanent engine maintenance site is being built at Calgary International Airport. The new facility is also set to include Canada’s first test cell for next-generation aircraft engines.
Around 18 months after the Calgary operation was announced, Flair Airlines is already its second major customer. The Canadian site will be supported by Lufthansa Technik’s network in Hamburg and Wrocław when required.

Digital Tech Ops services included in the agreement
In addition to engine maintenance, the agreement also covers several software solutions for technical fleet operations. Flair Airlines will use Condition Monitoring, Predictive Health Analytics and the Engineering Analytics Suite from Lufthansa Technik’s AVIATAR platform. These applications are used, among other things, to analyze technical condition and operational data from the fleet and to support engineering and maintenance processes with data-driven insights.
The package also includes the electronic technical logbook, eTLB, from the AMOS maintenance and engineering software developed by Swiss AviationSoftware. Flair will also use flydocs for digital technical records management and asset management. AVIATAR, AMOS and flydocs together form Lufthansa Technik’s Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem.
The two companies have been working together since 2019. Lufthansa Technik already provides Total Component Support for 18 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and two Boeing 737NGs operated by Flair. The existing cooperation has also included Cyclean Engine Wash and Mobile Engine Services for LEAP-1B and CFM56-7B engines.
“Flair is building a more efficient airline, focused on excellence in execution and long-term growth,” says Flair CEO Len Corrado. He added that the partnership with Lufthansa Technik Canada brings additional technical expertise to Canada, strengthens operations and supply-chain resilience, and supports skilled aviation expertise in Alberta.

Lufthansa Technik as an authorized LEAP service provider
Lufthansa Technik is authorized by CFM International as a service provider for both the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B and is part of the CFM LEAP Premier MRO Shop network. CFM International is a 50/50 joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines.
Flair Airlines operates a Boeing 737 fleet and serves more than 25 cities across Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica. The Lufthansa Technik Group employs around 23,000 people worldwide and provides maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification services for aircraft, engines, components and landing gear, as well as digital fleet support.
